Our Patron Saint is St Patrick.
Patrick was of pagan Roman parentage and lived somewhere near the coast
of Cumbria. He was taken as a slave by Irish pirates. He
worked as a pig herd. Eventually he escaped
and many years later returned to Ireland as the second Bishop of the
island. He converted the Celtic Kings and left an enduring legacy
of deep religious faith and spirituality among the Irish people. There
are two writings known to have been written by the Saint. One is an
account of his life and the other a letter to a soldier. We are honoured to serve
God under his patronage and we value his
prayers.
